Client Focus and Specializations 

Alison specializes in the treatment of anxiety and depression with a special interest in working with individuals who are coping with relationship and family difficulties, trauma, identity challenges, work/life balance, self-esteem, imposter syndrome, and grief and loss. Alison’s work is also focused on supporting young professionals in gaining clarity on their purpose so they can work towards their personal and professional goals. Alison works collaboratively with her clients to bring awareness to underlying issues that are creating unhealthy and unhelpful thoughts and habits, and helps her clients create new strategies for addressing these issues in a healthier way. Her approach to therapy is genuine, strengths based, non-judgmental, culturally competent, and centers around building a positive therapeutic alliance with the client.

Bio 

Originally from New Jersey, Alison received her undergraduate degree from Appalachian State University. She then went on to receive her Masters in Social Work from New York University. Alison brings several years of experience supporting individuals and families in both outpatient and school settings around issues of trauma, anxiety and depression, grief and loss, ADHD, and life transitions. In addition to working with The Tempesta Group she also serves as a school therapist in West Oakland supporting students, families, and teachers in utilizing trauma informed practices.
