I’m currently working with a new therapist. This is my first time in therapy, do you have any pointers for how to evaluate if they’re a good fit for me?
This is such a great question. Finding a therapist who is the right fit for you is so essential. Without that right fit you run the risk of not really achieving what you came in for. This means that you might stay in therapy longer than is necessary. Or you may drop out early because you aren’t finding it helpful or feel you can’t truly open up with the therapist. If you really want to get the most bang for your buck and reach your goals it’s important to think about whether the person is right for you.
